We've put up a new forum on the Splatter Board called "Questions for you," and the first question should be something you're an expert on: what makes you choose a particular play to go to?. Please help us out and give us some answers. Thanks!
The headline says it all: we're fully cast and at full throttle. Plus we've got high-res press photos you can download, and the press release, poster and postcards are on the way. Oh, and tickets are now available.
Berkeley Rep invites Impact fans to see a FREE workshop performance of Danny Hoch's latest work TONIGHT (Tuesday, March 13 8pm). If you've never seen Danny Hoch perform (Berkeley Rep produced his Jails, Hospitals & Hip Hop several years back at the Julia Morgan), you've missed out: he's one of the most talented solo performers to hit the stage since Anna Deavere Smith. If you have seen him, you know what I'm talking about.
Now he's back and working on new stuff, and you can see it tonight for free at Berkeley Rep. Email cheshire at berkeleyrep dot org and let me know how many tickets you want. If you don't receive a response, assume the tickets will be there for you -- they'll be held at the door under "Impact Theatre," NOT under your name. I repeat: NOT under your name. You give your name to the box office, they'll give you a blank look and no tickets.
More info after the jump.

So eat, drink and be merry during the FINAL PERFORMANCE of CARTOON, tonight at 8pm!
I'm so tired of people acting like every syllable Shakespeare ever wrote down on paper is sacrosanct; that cutting and pasting Shakespeare's plays is some kind of sin; that scansion should be preserved at all costs; and that the plays should be performed as written because that was "Shakespeare's intention." Ahem. BULLSHIT.
Read the whole thingThis has been a fantastic year for Impact actors and playwrights past and present so far, what with Joshua Huston going on in The Pillowman at Berkeley Rep and Peter Sinn Nachtrieb winning the prestigious Will Glickman Award. Now we have two more Impactians who are movin' on up: Enrique Urueta and Noah James Butler!
Read the whole thingBerkeley Rep has graciously offered our fans free tickets to The Pillowman this week: Tue, Mar 6 8pm; Wed, Mar 7 7pm; Thu, Mar 8 8pm; and Fri, Mar 9 8pm (update: no more tickets for Friday's perf). Call Elissa Dunn at 510 647-2918 for tickets. You will be so sorry if you miss this opportunity. So very sorry.
Measure for Measure (Shakespeare; directed by Melissa Hillman) just went into rehearsals and we're still seeking to fill the roles of the Provost and Barnardine (update: we have a Barnardine!). Must be non-AEA. $125 stipend.
Just a reminder that Cartoon closes this weekend. There are only three performances left, this Thursday-Saturday 8pm. Closing weekend often sells out, so don't wait until the last minute. Reserve your tickets before it's too late.
Totally not theatre-related, except that it's all about dialogue, and hey, theatre's a whole lot about dialogue, and, well, who cares -- this may be the best online thing ever: a typographic representation of one of the best scenes in Pulp Fiction. And if you're at all familiar with that movie, you'll know that this is probably NSFW. But I sent it to everyone at work anyway.
