Wayne Rawley, the playwright behind the Impact hit Money & Run, has just been published alongside the likes of Steve Martin, Christopher Durang, and Elaine May, among others, in the anthology Laugh Lines: Short Comic Plays, and his contribution has been singled out as the best one.
The play of Wayne's that they included is none other than "Controlling Interest." Impact audiences will know it as "How to Gain Controlling Interest," the play about eight-year-old businesspeople that capped 2005's Impact Briefs 7: The How-To Show.
In its review of Laugh Lines, Library Journal raves, "Wayne Rawley's 'Controlling Interest' is the gem of the collection: it's surprising, subtle, and full of laughs in 11 pages."
Congrats, Wayne -- a well-deserved honor!
(Side note: Impact Briefs 8: Sinfully Delicious is up next. Which undiscovered gem will you get to see before everyone else?)
