Help us assemble Steve Yockey’s Disassembly on Kickstarter

We're already almost at the 50% mark—take us the rest of the way!

In May, Impact premieres Disassembly, the newest play by Steve Yockey. We gave Steve his Bay Area debut with 2007's Cartoon (named one of the best plays of the year by the East Bay Express), and this is our fourth show of his after Cartoon, Sleepy, and last season's co-world premiere of Large Animal Games.

If you've seen previous plays of Steve's, you already know he's one of the freshest young voices in American theatre, and you'll be looking forward to the world premiere of Disassembly.

And if you haven't seen previous plays of Steve's...you're not alone.

It's tough to find people daring enough to take a chance on new work. World premieres need adventurous audiences, people like you who revel in discovering new voices in theatre. World premieres also need more financial support, which is why we’re using Kickstarter to help assemble Disassembly.

What the hell is Kickstarter, anyway? It's kind of like a crowd-sourced matching grant: we set a goal for Disassembly, and people like you pledge donations. You only actually donate if we hit our goal—if we fall even $1 short of our goal, we don't get any of the pledges. Basically, it's a way for people to band together to launch something cool, knowing they'll only have to honor their pledge if they've backed a winner. Backers get great benefits, and a worthy play gets the successful production it deserves. Everyone comes away feeling great.

For as little as a pledge of $1, you can ensure the success of a great new show. Receive awesome, unique backer benefits such as:

  • an invitation to the opening-night performance on May 7 and meet-and-greet with the playwright and director
  • a limited-edition behind-the-scenes book about the making of the show
  • your name featured prominently in the program
  • custom Disassembly-themed fox and crow buttons
  • plus tickets to the show, Impact pint glasses, and more!
